Collaboration and update saga of Dragon Ball

Postby Britis » Wed May 02, 2018 4:26 am

Good morning everyone,

I wanted to write to be able to get in touch with the TheTVDB group, since I would like to collaborate with the web.

I wanted to help with the update of the saga Dragon Ball, since consulting the web dragonball.wikia.com, which is updated every day, some episodes and seasons that are on TheTVDB are outdated. I would like to help to update it, but I have seen that they are blocked by Darklight Indigo (Dragon Ball), Furby (Dragon Ball Z) and Maretoh (Dragon Ball GT). I do not know how to get the permission to unlock it and be able to update it.

Here I leave as it would be the correction of the sagas and chapters:

http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_sagas

I would like to help update other TVShows.

Thank you

P.D .: Sorry my English, it's not very good :D

The first series follows Toei's official divisions of the anime episodes into arcs (seasons)

Pick a way to sort this and the rest of the Dragon Ball (Z, GT, Super) shows out, because, it's confusing for the rest of us to figure out how to name our files when using your database.

As far as Dragon Ball is concerned, there were only 5 Seasons (US) released, see the 5-Season DVD Boxed Set, containing all 153 episodes. There are 9 sagas; when the show was originally aired in Japan, they didn't separate their shows by seasons because shows are aired all year long, instead, chose to break them into arcs or sagas based on the manga (comics).

What it looks like to me, is that a few too many hands were in this pot and two different conventions were used to collaborate the sorting of episodes.

There are two options for whomever will be fixing this:
Change it to the 5-Season format -or-
Change it to the 9-Saga format

Either way, it'll be better than this [WTF] 6-Season BS that it is now. (P.S. I implore you to find any trace of a sixth season on the internet, especially one that contains episode 153.)

This is what I had finalized from my post above:

The linked post indicates that whoever made that assumption, used the Japanese DVD release set, which, as you and I both know, will be in two completely different formats. Toei released the JP DVDs and Funimation released the US DVDs.

There are a few options for whomever will be fixing this:
Change it to the 5-Season format -or-
Change it to the 9-Saga format -or-
Name the current one to Dragon Ball [JP] and create a new Dragon Ball [US]
