The broadcaster and production company are a good point of reference:

Production company - showing 52 episodes in season 1 and 2, 26 episodes in season 3 (sadly no episode guide though)
https://www.tigeraspect.co.uk/series/an ... ed-series/
https://www.tigeraspect.co.uk/series/an ... -series-2/
https://www.tigeraspect.co.uk/series/an ... -series-3/

Broadcaster (Sky) - showing 47 episodes in season 1, 52 in season 2 and 13 in 3
https://www.sky.com/watch/title/series/ ... /episode-1

Broadcaster (ITV) - showing 13 episodes in season 3, 52 in season 2 and only 37 in season 1
https://www.itv.com/hub/mr-bean-animated-series/2a2936
If I look at archive.org it does show they listed 52 episodes in season 1:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160604083 ... ies/2a2936
https://web.archive.org/web/20161031223 ... ies/2a2936

Radio Times - showing 52 episodes in season 1 and 2, 13 in 3
https://www.radiotimes.com/tv-programme ... ode-guide/

TVGuide - showing 52 episodes in season 1 (no info on other seasons)
https://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/mr-bean ... es/466248/
Thank you for taking the time to put this together. While I appreciate the help, it only goes further to demonstrate how inconclusive information on this series is. Plus, most of the sources don't include air dates, which means we're left with a key piece of the puzzle missing.

I reckon the best way to sort this out would be to email the source (the ITV Archives) directly at [email protected].
They're very kind and quick to respond. We'll need to get the complete breakdown for each season (list of episode titles and air dates in the correct order).
rutski wrote:I'd say on balance the correct listing should be 52 episodes in season 1, 52 episodes in season 2 and 13 (presumably to increase to 26) in season 3 comprising of
Season 1 In the Wild to Running Battle
Season 2 Home Movie to Bean Shopping
Season 3 Game Over to Running on Empty
So what you're saying is we should delete our current Season 2 and Season 3, and rename Season 4 to Season 2 and Season 5 to Season 3? This means no new episodes of this series aired between June 2003 and February 2015 and all the 2004 air dates we have are false.

Its clear the current Seasons 1-2-3 are wrong with mixed with cross season duplicates, so if there is no "official source" found yet, then the listings need to be changed to align with some sense of logic but WITHOUT the duplicates! At least until a valid source can be found later.

Its either that or the series needs to be NUKED all together until an official source is found to stop supporting/spreading confusion from this site.

Thanks
I believe the best (and perhaps only) way to sort it all out and clean up this messy series is to contact the ITV Archives ([email protected]) and ask for a complete breakdown of each season (or series in British lingo) — i.e. a list of episode titles and air dates in the correct order.
They are super nice and they reply quickly.

We'll honor the answer they give and consider it an official source to rely on. If anyone wants to take this first step and reach out to them, I'm happy to dedicate the time required to do whatever needs to be done by a moderator.
Otherwise, this is going to Denied Requests within a week.

This was their response

Dear Adriano,
Thank you for your recent email regarding Mr Bean.

I am sorry to advise that we do not have the facility to provide the details, you may like to take a look at the website below for more information;

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280277/

May I take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to contact us here at ITV Viewer Services.

If we can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind regards,

Lauren

So, we should assume the episode list which is on imdb as its official

Thank you for trying! What a disappointing answer.
IMDb is a mess with most episodes missing air dates, so we won't be using it as a source. I'm afraid there isn't much we can do at this point.

What does that even mean?

But that's not to say I won't be doing anything. I'll take a deeper look at this later and see what I come up with. I know you've been waiting very long :)

So first of all, there were A LOT of duplicates. I started by removing those.
Also, Season 2 had a bunch of blank episodes with "-" as the title, so I deleted them as well.

And as for the air dates and composition of seasons, since ITV was no help, I took a little leap of faith and cross-referenced a bunch of different sources, including Amazon Prime Video, DVD releases, and IMDb. It looks like Wikipedia has the arrangement the makes most sense, with episodes airing in 2002 (Season 1), 2003 (Season 2), and 2004 (Season 3).
I corrected our listings for the first three seasons:
https://www.thetvdb.com/series/mr-bean- ... /seasons/1 (18 episodes)
https://www.thetvdb.com/series/mr-bean- ... /seasons/2 (16 episodes)
https://www.thetvdb.com/series/mr-bean- ... /seasons/3 (18 episodes)

I feel that given the information and sources at hand, this is the best solution I could arrive at.

An alternate version I'm seeing is that the series' first season consists of 52 episodes (meaning our Season 1, Season 2, and Season 3 need to be combined to make Season 1) — but given the fact that the one-year gaps between the seasons the way we currently have them listed, I feel like that is less likely to be the right structure.

So you're going to combine them?
I feel like the change you've just made is the correct one
