Hi TVDB,

I'm trying to add two-part episodes of a documentary called Europe in Chaos by the Smithsonian Channel.

It should go like this:

Europe in Chaos (title)

Part I: Brexit

Part II: Migratory Crisis

My question is how can I properly add these two-part episodes to theTVDB?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

It's already

You can add a second if it aired on different dates or is listed as such on the official homepage.

Thanks for replying it.

It was I that added. :)

I'm struggling on how to add the episodes per se. If you look it you'll see that there is only the name of the two-part series documentary added.

These are the episodes:

Part I: Brexit

Part II: Migration Crisis

Maybe I am asking the wrong (long) question.

How can I add multi-part episodes to a continuing TV Series?

I honestly can find how to do it.

Here's the entry I am trying to add a 2-part episode: https://www.thetvdb.com/series/smithson ... es/7118613

Any help would be appreciated.

Just add another episode with the Add Episode button, and modify the titles with the Manage Translations button. You can edit episode details such as air dates with the Edit Episode button, or on the episode's creation (right after Add Episode)
I believe in this case it is allowed as the official site lists two parts.

This is what I have done. First, please, some admin deletes the number 3 episode it was a mistake.

Is that right?

Since this is a two-part episode, shouldn't be both appearing as #1?

I'm just trying to understand how to insert a multi-part episode properly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

This seems to be correct, yes. As the site lists two episodes, you may list two episodes.

However if you wish to have the option of uniting them, you can use a trick involving DVD Ordering, assuming that the software receiving the metadata from TVDB also supports it.

If you use decimal DVD ordering (Ref: Entry Methodology), you are able to get the applications supporting this method to view multipart episodes as a single episode.

You will of course have to set the application to use DVD Ordering for this series, if that is the result you want.

I'm not sure how relevant this is to the discussion - but the Smithsonian two part series is based on the BBC Documentary series 'Inside Europe: Ten Years of Turmoil':

https://www.thetvdb.com/series/inside-e ... of-turmoil

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/ ... of-turmoil

The Smithsonian have seemingly just aired two of the three episodes of the BBC Doc (they missed out the episode on the Greek crisis).

I'm new to TVDB so I'm not aware of the rules of what makes a series 'unique' enough to have its own listing on TVDB - different broadcaster, missing episodes, different naming scheme, etc... but thought @hbs might like to know - although I understand that you are likely living in the US, so won't have access to the BBC iPlayer.

OK, I've just spent some time looking through the rules - it seems the missing episode is enough for the Smithsonian series to co-exist with the BBC series. So sorry if I've posted off-topic.
