David Attenborough's Natural Curiosities (2016)?

Postby PoBear » Sun May 01, 2016 9:52 am

Hi

I'm new so I hope this is being posted in the correct place.

I'd like to create a new series David Attenborough's Natural Curiosities (2016).

There is already an entry for David Attenborough's Natural Curiosities, this was originally a 3 series 30 minute show but was re-broadcast by the BBC in 2016 as a 1 series. 10 episode, 45 minute show.

I haven't seen the original version so I don't know how the 2016 version has been re-edited but there must be some content missing as the 21 original episodes do not translate into the 10 new ones.

I was going to use the info from the BBC pages http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06z9j42/episodes/guide and the current TVDB entry.

Thanks

If it's a re-airing, or the same show even cut in a different way, then it doesn't diserve his own entry.
If there's new content, that could be done.
Anyway, they're definitely not aired in the same order, but I don't think the episodes are different.
BBC just began airing it, there could be more seasons too.

I don't know about the actual content but the original series was 21 x 30 minute episodes and the new one was 45 minute ones and only ten episodes, there's no way to map the new one onto the original.

Fair that there's a 180-minute gap (precisely three hours) between the two.

Think of it as the "NatGeo Rule":
If a documentary makes use of substantial portions of another documentary...
If the first documentary "differentiates" by repeating content, don't add it.
If the first documentary has significantly different content, add it.

Fair enough?

Hello!

I am sorry to bring this one up again, apologies for doing so.

However, it's causing me some problems, as I only have what we could call S4 - the BBC2 compilation series, and it simply won't show up in my libraries because there is nothing to scrape.

Could we perhaps put them in as 'specials'?
There is some new content, mainly the segues between each section.
