Error in Ridiculousness Episodes

Postby briankitt » Tue Feb 05, 2019 9:41 pm

S11E39 Chanel and Sterling LXVII This episode is correctly labeled and titled.
S12E20 this episode is referring to S11E39, so the description is exactly a duplicate.
This means that E21 through E37 are incorrectly numbered, there is not 37 episodes in S12 there is only 36.

So where did the discrepancy for S12E20 come from? My best guess is due to an erroneous listing on Amazon. They actually incorrectly moved the episode from the prior season to this spot. But they are showing 20+ seasons, when there is really only 12. So taking from their order is invalid anyway. They simply do shorter seasons to make selling seasons more profitable, an Amazon season has no real bearing on an actual TV series season.

Now, what we need to do is delete S12E20, and renumber all episodes after it. However, I don't have this authority.

briano89 put this in, so he (or a moderator) would need to make this change. If that could be done, then all of the seasons would be correct.

Note, I did have authority to fix episode titles, and I corrected 2 of them that were wrong. I made my corrections based off of the MTV descriptions on MTV's website, so that should be accurate. However, MTV does not list full seasons, so it's impossible to get a full season listing.

How can I get this message to either briano89 or to a moderator?

This was fixed. But now it seems someone has gone in and added the duplicate from season 11 https://www.thetvdb.com/series/ridiculo ... es/6833698 back in as s12e20 https://www.thetvdb.com/series/ridiculo ... es/7054530 and shifted everything up one. This show is in constant battle. But it does seem that s11e39 and s12e20 are duplicates as of writing this. Could a mod please delete s12e20 and shift them back? Thanks!

I corrected them, did you even bother to look at the screenshots? clearly 2 different episodes, did you even consider that maybe the overview for S11E39 is wrong

Update: I have corrected the overview for S11E39

Rob, Chanel and Steelo talk about people who are so soft they’re known as THE DELICATES, and hang out with some disgusting couples in their HONEYMOON PHASE.

Respectfully, I believe that with all of the errors and corrections this show has had in the past, the screenshots are wrong. The sources that I can find that reference an episode named "Chanel and Sterling LXVII" AND are TVDB accepted say that it's description is "Rob, Chanel and Steelo find some people who take "Ghosting" to another level, discuss the best time to just "Take the L," and watch some people get burnt in "Fire Drilled.""

TV Guide Episode "Chanel and Sterling LXVII": https://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/ridicul ... ii/327484/

And now after you've updated s11e39's description, it seems to almost exactly match the description of the following s11e40
S11E40 https://www.thetvdb.com/series/ridiculo ... es/6856154
TV Guide Episode "Chanel and Sterling LXXI": https://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/ridicul ... xi/327484/

The sources above also show that "Chanel and Sterling LXVII" aired on Oct 7 2018, The duplicate in s20 is saying it aired in December.

I have every episode on my hard drives and the screenshots and overviews are correct, my source is MTV not unreliable TVGuide. I have corrected the overview on S11E40 and the titles for the others. Here is a screenshot from MTV.ca https://imgur.com/a/LQl03JQ they don't broadcast in the same order here so the episode numbers and broadcast dates won't match but the titles, overviews and screenshots match.

Not that I don't trust you. But could you please post the link to the MTV.com source? I looked for quite a while and couldn't find it. I always try to check the official sources first, then move down the list of "Preferred Sources" in the sticky. I would love to just have all of these change just be fixed and stopped. No matter what the actual outcome is.

Technobob, why did you change this up. I had this all correct, based on MTV, and now you put S11E39 back in as S12E20. And then you deleted S11E39, and reordered them??
I can tell you for certain that I had S11E39 before S12 even started. So you can't say it's because this is the order in which they were aired, I definitely have had S11E39 far longer than I have had S12E01. I can look at my file stamps and see that.

So while you did take care of the duplication issue, you now have them out of order.

Personally I don't care, it really doesn't matter, but it's causing a lot of confusion. Episode numbers should stick once the episode has aired ,and that's clearly not what is happening here.

Do NOT trust when ANY television station says 'first aired'. I could easily give you a dozen series that I personally watch, that shuffles these dates around. My belief, is that television stations do this so that DVR's pick them up as new.
Destination Truth and Expedition Unknown, both on Travel Channel, do this frequently. Destination Truth first aired over 10 years ago, but my DVR constantly keeps picking these up as 'new episodes', and I guarantee it's the same one that aired 10 years ago.

At least 3 or 4 shows I watch on Discovery Channel do this also.
