Sorry, but it seems there's a bit of Drama over this one.

According to the site guidelines, "the official listing will be considered gospel".

According to the official listing on Discovery.com, what we have listed as series 6 is actually series 7, and series 6 is actually the 4 part "search for the afterlife"

There was some previous debate here that because previous specials were listed as a separate program by the original network (Travel channel), therefore the "afterlife" episodes should be treated the same way...but that's not now the official listings on the new network show it. For those who are unaware, this series was originally on Travel channel and moved to Discovery for new episodes (these are not re-airings). Therefore Discovery's method of listing should be respected for these new episodes that first aired on Discovery.

I propose we treat these the way the official listings go per the policies.

Can we please get series 6 moved over to series 7 and have series 6 unlocked so we can add the 4 episodes?

I'm happy to entertain discussion here, but from previous discussions I've read, the cardinal rule is tied to the official listings and rarely, if ever, is this rule broken when the official listing is clear.

Thanks

To muddy the waters...

If we look past the Discovery.com listing...and follow the sequence of possible trusted sources...

TVGuide.com...has things very confusing:
They have a trailer for season6 posted that describes the "afterlife" episodes, but they're numbering the current episodes (what Discovery calls season 7) as season 6...<sigh>

TV.com doesn't have a listing for expedition unknown on Discovery.

IMDB also shows the current airing episodes as season 6...

So it appears that only Discovery.com is showing the current airing episodes as season 7...but they're supposed to be the authoritative voice, right?

Do we need to discuss?

I've seen arguments similar to yours many times on here. I've made the same arguement myself. But let me refer you to the information sources listed here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9271

If you search out Discovery you'll see that certain station groups are not considered the authority. That's just the way it is, if we like it or not.

Thanks for that @psion20.

My apologies, and I see that now (I didn't read the entire thread, my bad!) Perhaps the first post should be updated to include a reference that there are exceptions--that would have prompted me to read further..but I digress.

In this case, we still have 4 episodes that are unaccounted for...can we get them added to the specials at least? Or is there some other way this has to be accounted for?

Thanks again.

So sorry this show is difficult. If you feel there are specials that are unaccounted for, please send the data, we will try and validate, and upload.
