Request for latest database dump

Postby n3ziniuka5 » Wed Apr 04, 2018 2:42 pm

I'd like to have all the data in my local database. However, looking at api, there is no way to get ids of all series. It would be great to get an up to date database dump, it has been a year since the last dump - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7550

Also, dumps in .sql format are quite hard to work with if you only need partial information. For example, if I only need a title and a rating, I still need to import the whole thing and then reimport to another database. I think it would make sense for the dump to have many files, 1 for each series. The file content would be data about series, including all episodes, in json format. Example (filename would be 153021.json):

Code: Select all

  "data": {
    "id": 153021,
    "seriesName": "The Walking Dead",
    "aliases": [],

    "status": "Continuing",
    "firstAired": "2010-10-31",

    "overview": "The world we knew is gone. An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months society has crumbled. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally start living. Based on a comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, this AMC project focuses on the world after a zombie apocalypse. The series follows a police officer, Rick Grimes, who wakes up from a coma to find the world ravaged with zombies. Looking for his family, he and a group of survivors attempt to battle against the zombies in order to stay alive.",

After importing the initial dump I would be able to update the data by using the "/updated" endpoint.

We are not splitting the DB dumps. We don't even provide them very often in the first place, if you want to use them fine but they are not designed for normal users to use nor will they ever be. Anything designed for users to use will come from the API and if you can't talk us into adding it to the API it won't be something we support.
Please don't PM me. Post in the forums instead unless there is a very good reason for a PM or I won't respond.

What about an api endpoint that would return a list of all show ids? That way it would be possible to eventually get the data about every show. Or have daily id exports, like "The Movie Database".

v2 api has "Updates" endpoint with list of updated ids. You just need to find out if new ids are there too.
