Good Evening,

First of all, thanks for updating season 2 and 3. Unfortunately season 1 is still showing as having 78 episodes. Maybe this is a misunderstanding for me, I'm using a Plex agent to grab my metadata for my TV shows - daniel tiger being a show I record OTA. Each episode is two titles with a similar theme. As they are aired it is one 30 minute episode. How does TVDB work with the DVD episodes? I want to do this the right way but I don't understand how TVDB combines information for my Plex server to download.

I haven't used Plex for a while because of issues like handling split-segments, but I know there's at least a DVD Order Agent to handle the DVD Order side of your inquiry:

I guess I don't know how to take care of this, seasons 2 and 3 were updated and are accurate but season 1 still has so many episodes that need to be combined to match the aired data. PBS does not air the segments individually so I don't know why they are split in the first place. I assume this was done erroneously by another user.

I don't really understand how you can deal with seasons 2-3 correcly and not season 1, as they're treated the same way.
Episode 36 of season 3 e.g. is actually the second segment of the 19th aired episode of this season:
https://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&se ... 1201&lid=7

So using the DVD order in your agent can help you recombine the segments into a single episode, and then you'll have your 40 episodes of season 1.

I apologize, I am basing the episodes on what was recorded from PBS on my system. I can only base my information off of what is actually aired from the content provider, also the information from the PBS website.

One other combined location is on the PBS kids website, a little rudimentary but there you can see that they are combined episodes. http://pbskids.org/daniel/videos/

You mention they are treated the same way but unfortunately they are not on other apps (Filebot/Sonarr/etc) Those apps scrape tvdb, in whatever form is current on the season page and updates the files. Plex is just one app, and also that agent is from 2014 and various users reported bugs and not being able to install it any longer.

The split rule won't change, but we told you there's a workaround.
The 40 episodes you're looking for are there:
https://www.thetvdb.com/index.php?lid=7 ... &order=dvd
They're split in two parts, but you can use the DVD order to make them one again.
See i.e.:
Episode 1 - DVD Episode 1.1
Episode 2 - DVD Episode 1.2
So S01E0102 should be your S01E01.

Shows how closely we monitor outside developments.
Plex has native DVD Order support as of v1.4.1.3362-77c6a4f80.

Am I missing something? I followed all the discussion about joining the episodes vs. keeping them split. My understanding from that was it is TVDB's policy to split these episodes but there was a work-around, which was to use DVD ordering. Earlier posts in this thread said that DVD ordering was completed for this series. But when I use the DVD ordering agent in Plex, there are no corrections to the metadata (e.g., PBS episode 1 contains TVDB eps 1&2, thus throwing off metadata). When I look at episode details through TVDB for Daniel Tiger, there doesn't seem to be any DVD ordering information at all (e.g., https://www.thetvdb.com/series/daniel-t ... es/4974874 -- this information would be in the "DVD Season & Episode Number" right?). And the seasons are locked. Was DVD order information never allowed, or removed for some reason, or am I just looking in the wrong place?
