X-Men: The Animated Series

For one thing, I'm not 100% sure it should be called "The Animated Series", I'm pretty sure the name is just "X-Men" but I'm not really fussed about that.

But then there's these:

Phoenix Saga (Part 1): Sacrifice

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesi ... 3650&lid=7
Phoenix Saga (Part 2): The Dark Shroud

Phoenix Saga (Part 3): Cry of the Banshee

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesi ... 3652&lid=7
Phoenix Saga (Part 4): The Starjammers

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesi ... 3653&lid=7
Phoenix Saga (Part 5): Child of Light

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesi ... 3657&lid=7
The Dark Phoenix Saga (Part 1): Dazzled

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesi ... 3658&lid=7
The Dark Phoenix Saga (Part 2): The Inner Circle

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesi ... 3659&lid=7
The Dark Phoenix Saga (Part 3): The Dark Phoenix

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesi ... 3660&lid=7
The Dark Phoenix Saga (Part 4): The Fate of the Phoenix

Firstly I'm not happy with the naming convention, I prefer to replace things like (Part 1) with (1) etc. but in this case I'm not sure how.

There are other multi-part story lines in the series where replacing (Part n) with (n) would be more straight forward.

Secondly, I'm not sure if it means anything but according to the opening credits on my DVD the names of the story-lines are actually "The Phoenix Saga" and "Dark Phoenix" (for part 1) or The Dark Phoenix (for parts 2,3 and 4) rather than "Phoenix Saga" or "The Dark Phoenix Saga".

I think at least "Phoenix Saga" should have the "The" added to the beginning and "The Dark Phoenix Saga" should have the "Saga" removed. I'm not sure about the rest but...

I can find no source other than the opening credits... the online listings I can find are all over the place. Marvel.com is the closest to an official source I can find but the website is buggy, it will only show me four episodes of season 5, if I try to get it to show me anything else I wind up with a blank page.

Episode List

There's also a point that according to the opening credits the "Beyond Good and Evil" episodes don't have individual sub-names... various listings across the internet use the same sub-names as TheTVDB, but others leave them out.

I don't know if there's a good reason for all of these inconsistencies (obviously the title-cards themselves aren't beyond fault) but I can't help but think that someone may have gone through the episodes early on and set their own "corrected" names which other sites have copied since.

If there's been an actual official listing saying these are the correct names then I guess that's OK, but at the moment the names don't actually match the opening credits in my files and I'd like conformation that this is the way it's supposed to be before I accept it.

( by the way, searching for x-men is really difficult, the search removes the 'x' and searches for "man", I've managed to search for "Man animated series" but if I missed a previous thread on this subject I'm sorry. )

I found the intended broadcast order for the X-Men Animated episodes here. Here's the link, if the site is upgraded to allow alternate listings or in case they can be used for the DVD listings (which match the airing order).

the continuity errors are boundless if you follow the airdates. it has to be ordered in by script number or the show makes no sense.

Example: Beyond Good and Evil s04e08-11 Jean Grey is clearly alive and well. She is stolen by Apocalypse to break time. However in No Mutant is and Island s05e04 Jean Grey is dead from taking the M'Kraan crystal into the sun....................

clearly airdate is the wrong ordering for this show.
Just zis guy, you know?

I believe Absolute Order accounts for this:
