National Geographic Documentaries

Postby manekineko » Sat Feb 19, 2011 6:21 am

Edit: Air Crash Investigation/Air Emergency/Mayday now has its own thread. Please use it -- there's enough confusion going on with the one-off documentaries this thread is about.

National Geographic Documentaries http://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=80995&lid=7 looks like it's been done by the Department of Redundancy Department...
I'll start cleaning it up this weekend and it looks like I'll need all the help I can get, especially regarding airdates. NatGeo's own website doesn't help there.

First step will be identifying all the episodes that are their own series and deleting them or moving them where they belong. Next is moving the episodes in single/double digit seasons to the year they aired.

NatGeo's handling of series makes me want to pull my hair out.
Two examples:
"Inside" has a couple of sub-series like "History's Secrets", "The Mafia" and "Outlaw Bikers" -- there might be more.
"Megastructures" does the same with "Megafactories", "Monster Moves", "Ultimate Factories" (Megafactories renamed), and so on.
What to do? Gut feeling tells me to make the sub-series their own series, but I'd like to hear other opinions.
