I have been thinking about this some more, and have solidified my opinionthat the revisited episodes should be put into the "current" season ie. not in the season they "originally" aired.

Here are my thoughts supporting this...

For me, a new season of Grand Designs happens (more or less) over a number of consecutive weeks, most are completely new episodes but some (often not even at the end of the season) are revisited episodes.

In my opinion, the revisited episodes can still be thought of as legitimate episodes in the new season because they have a new intro and add new content at the end. Just because they "revisit" an older project doesn't matter. I suppose I consider each season of Grand Designs to have a mix of completely new and "let's see how things are going" episodes.

When episodes become "available", revisited episodes generally just get the next episode number of the current season.

Some revisited episodes (though not so much lately) re-look at projects in Grand Designs Abroad, Indoors etc. Adding them into their original series/season really starts to get complicated and messy. I think most people would still consider this situation to be a new Grand Designs episode rather than some new episode of a series that hasn't been current for quite some time.

I completely agree with etw's comment that "Also it makes a bit more work for mods when people aren't aware and add them as they aired (mixed in with normal episodes)". This "double up" happens often and I suppose indicates that at least some people naturally would expect Revisited to be in the current season and think they are missing in the tvdb altogether.

I personally find it very difficult to remember where to look in my collection to find a relatively new episode of Grand Designs (Revisited) when it isn't grouped in the current season. It makes logical sense to find the most recent episode in the current season.

I know we shouldn't just "do what other sites do", but TVRage, imdb, http://www.tvguide.co.uk all put revisited episodes into the current season - maybe we should stay consistent?

Anyway, once again, these are just my thoughts. I am not sure how/who makes the final decision on this. If it is agreed to "change back" to putting revisited episodes into the current season, I am happy to help.

Please fix formatting on the following revisited episodes to match all others.
All others are :
Revisited - Place: Title

6x07
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid ... 8639&lid=7

9x10, 9x11
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid ... 0117&lid=7

10x09, 10x10
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid ... 5911&lid=7

P.s. I don't like putting new revisted episodes in old series either. Would have much prefered them grouped by series year.

Duplicate

10x10 and 11x11
same broadcast date, same episode title etc.

by putting revisited episodes in their old series causes problems like this.
what are you going to do now? renumber the rest of the episodes in series 11?

sorry for the multiple posts.
more of the same type of duplicates again.

should 11x08 be 10x09 ?
Revisited - Lake District: The Dome House

and

should 11x12 be 9x11
Revisited - Kent: The Headcorn Minimalist House

Think I've got the numbers right - thetvdb main website isn't responding right now.

The second half of Season 11 are mostly duplicates.

Can I get another mods view on the ordering please? I can't seen any 'clean' way of doing it, and also Channel 4 list Grand Designs and Grand Designs Revisited as separate shows online now: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/gran ... sode-guide & http://www.channel4.com/programmes/gran ... sode-guide

Also I've fixed the typo's.

Thinking about splitting the shows? That'll be fun :D Have C4 done a good job of the revisited series listing? I can see 12 episodes which doesn't seem like it would cover all the episodes. Unless they have a really good listing I think you/we should leave that option out of it.

To this issue with new revisited episodes, it's an unfortunate consequence of how the show is made and I don't think we should go undoing all the hard work you put into the series. I'm sure people appreciate the consistency there is now and it seems to fit pretty well having the revisited in the same series as the original.

Duplicates deleted.
Please link to the series/episode page and your sources. Wikipedia is NOT a valid source.

There are 40 revisited and they have listed ~17 or so on their site, so not complete.

I'll leave things as Furby as recommended for now. When the new site is up (no ETA ;)) I'll make sure we take advantage of the improved listings options to list both ways listing them.

Hi etw,

I'd like to request Grand Designs Season 10 to be updated (because you have locked Season 10) with the corresponding information from Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Gr ... .282010.29

The list of 14 episodes from Wikipedia matches my list of 14 episodes for Season 10.

Kind regards,
Dave.

Sorry no. The decision was made for now to put the "Revisited" episodes into the 'original' episode's season. The new site (no ETA) will support multiple orders and so we'll support both the current and 'alternate' order.

Also wikipedia is a source of last resort: http://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9271
