OVA Listings

Postby DarklightIndigo » Tue Sep 22, 2015 4:06 pm

Legacy OVA listings are currently under discussion.

If the decision is to remove, this thread will be retitled to reflect that decision.
If the decision is to keep, this thread will be retained as a listing for future consideration.

I don't see a public discussion, just as a small input from me:
Anything below 3 episodes or movie length should still be removed even if you allow legacy OVAs. Those are the ones that often got a "US" movie release and don't make much sense as "shows".

Taking examples form above;
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=79149&lid=7 A single 50 minute episode. -> No
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid ... 3421&lid=7 A single 25 minute episode. -> No
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=seasonall&id=277898&lid=7 Three episodes from 35 to 50 minutes -> Maybe, the episodes are not really connected though.

An example that comes to mind that is elsewhere more known as a movie;
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid ... 6256&lid=7 Two episodes totaling movie length

If the "had to air" rule was lifted it would also be easier for OVAs with 3+ episodes to be warranted like Bubblegum Crisis or Gunbuster.

I agree tbh and I know I've deleted at least one of these (Hoshi No Koe) before.

Aliased Sweat Punch to the more structured Deep Imagination listing.
We certainly don't need both while the fate of OVAs is considered.
