Odd, I checked the same website around that time as well and it wasn't anything like you claim so one can only assume you're mistaken or something.

I mean, it's possible I was confused, but I just very vividly remember checking the site on the day it first aired, and it had them listed as 10 episodes. Checking the site now, the layout and design actually looks a bit different, so it seems likely that was still the pre-release site and they were using the future DVD/Bluray info. I understand the rules, and I'm not particularly arguing against the way it is, it's just really weird to me that it seems to have switched like that because I'm usually pretty on top of checking the harder to categorize numbering of episodes of shows in my library.

If I'm not mistaken the production company for this series also had/has a website. Perhaps you saw them listed there before the History Channel listing was up? Either way we go by the official listing.

I'm sure this is like beating a dead horse and what I have to say is irrelevant.

The description for the show on thetvdb.com: "This is a 10-hour, ten-part, mini-series."

I'm not asking to change the order. I used the *.nfo files and it works fine. I understand that the shows website or network website has the higher authority on what is correct information.

But under every season of every show on thetvdb.com has: "Aired Order | DVD Order" couldn't some just put it in the 10 episode format as its presented on DVD's

I mean, I can edit the description but other than that... still not changing.

No, those are only different orders for existing episodes. They are not separate episode lists, anything added to one is visible on the other, only the order can be different. It's a large technical change to allow 10 episodes in DVD order and only 5 in aired order. Such a thing will be supported with the new site but the current one simply can't do it.
Please don't PM me. Post in the forums instead unless there is a very good reason for a PM or I won't respond.

History Channel aired them in 2 hr episodes on their first night, as they have recently with other shows, like Mankind, Men who Built America, etc. Then when the show them again, they are aired in one hour episodes. They give the episodes actual names for each episode including the second hour of each two part episode, so I can see why it would make more sense as a 10 part series as well as DVD/BD releases. I assumed they were 2 hour episodes originally because that's the way they were first shown, but then when they show them again they're in one hour episodes. It's kind of confusing when they do this especially if you miss an episode and you record it again and find they're split up in one hour segments. The History Channel site is officially listing them as 5, 2-hour parts.

I disagree with this being listed incorrectly as 5x double ep's

Reasons:

1. Series first aired with credits between episodes
When the series first aired there was starting + ending credits between each episode. This is a back to back episode, there are lots of double episodes on thetvdb within other show listings, and these are not grouped together as a single episode, they are listed two episodes with the same air date.

2. Official The Bible Press Room Release Production Company Website
This divides the series into 5 parts, and each part is 2 episodes
http://bibleseriesresources.com/pressroom-movie-clips
http://bibleseriesresources.com/pressroom-week-1

3. Official The Bible tv series Website
Describes the series as having 10 episodes
http://www.bibleseries.tv/about/

4. Official History Channel Website
The website lists 10 x individual episode recap videos
http://www.history.com/shows/the-bible

5. TV Rage - Episode Guide
Listed as 10 episodes

6. Wikipedia - Episode Summary
Listed as 10 episodes
