Is is possible/sensible to be able to store a unique upstream ID for a show if one exists?

For example, BBC iPlayer identifies every show, series, and episode using a unique ID:

Programme (show): p0260ych
Series (season): b0b615gh
Episode: b0bcqwn5

This ties in and can be looked up:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0260ych.json
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b615gh.json
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bcqwn5.json

and provides instant resolution to any disputes over series and episodes.

My question is: is it possible to store a reference ID for show, series, and episode somewhere in TheTVDB? It's similar to production codes that uniquely identify an episode.

Would also improve quality of meta for BBC stuff.

I have two requests for random BBC shows open in the requests subforum, perhaps some of this discussion can be moved here or closed entirely if it's off-topic.
