Pixar Shorts:

Went to watch a short earlier today on my plex server and noticed that many of my shorts belonging to Season 2 and Specials were no longer named correctly.
My season 2 files were named correctly ~6 months ago, like so:

S02E01 La Luna (2011)
S02E02 Partysaurus Rex (2012)
S02E03 The Blue Umbrella (2013)
S02E04 Sanjay's Super Team (2015)
S02E05 Lava (2015)
S02E06 Piper (2016)
S02E07 Finding Dory - Marine Life Interviews (2016)

However, it appears that these episodes have been shifted to be Episodes 12-18. The new episodes 1-11 are duplicates, either of specials or season 1 episodes, is it possible that they can be removed?
Current Season 2:
S02E01 Your Friend the Rat -> Duplicate of S01E14 Your Friend the Rat
S02E02 Presto -> Duplicate of S01E15 Presto
S02E03 BURN-E -> Duplicate of S01E16 BURN-E
S02E04 Partly Cloudy -> Moved, was previously S00E06 Partly Cloudy
S02E05 Dug's Special Mission -> Duplicate of S00E07 Dug's Special Mission
S02E06 George & A.J. -> Duplicate of S00E06 George & A.J.
S02E07 Day & Night -> Duplicate of S00E08 Day & Night
S02E08 Hawaiian Vacation -> Moved, was previously S00E17 Hawaiian Vacation (Which no longer exists?)
S02E09 Air Mater -> Duplicate of S00E16 Air Mater
S02E10 Small Fry -> Duplicate of S00E15 Small Fry
S02E11 Time Travel Mater -> Duplicate of S00E14 Time Travel Mater

Would it be possible to remove the duplicates, and maybe put a season lock so there has to be some verification to add shorts? I would edit the series myself, however I am not sure how it should be ordered, and how shorts should be categorized between Specials and Season 2. The specials are out of order in regards to the date in many cases, there are 4 empty S00E0s, S00E17 and S00E18 are missing, and S00E35-S00E48 were not even produced by Pixar, but by Disney or Sony.

Has anybody even read this post? Because all info is correct. The situation should be put back to 11 episodes for season 2: S02E01 to S02E07 like mentioned in the post and four new ones:

S02E08 Lou (2017)
S02E09 Miss Fritter's Racing Skoool (2017)
S02E10 Bao (2018)
S02E11 Auntie Edna (2018)

This series has been a mess for as long as I can remember. There are some that might need a series of their own, like Mater's Tall Tales, Tales from Radiator Spring and Toy Story Toons. This was also mentioned earlier.
Maybe a suggestion: why not use the same methodology like Tom and Jerry? This series uses decades: Season 1940, Season 1950 and Season 1960. Why not use this for Pixar also? Could be: Season 1980, Season 1990, Season 2000 and Season 2010...

Please change the series to Seasons according to The DVD releases "Pixar Short Films Collection, Volume 1" 2 and 3. See Wikipedia... ... Collection

There is only duplicates in Season 2 and 3 that are added on in the previous season for no reason.
Anytime soon would be great.

It would be a possibility to use the DVD's Volumes 1, 2 and 3. But I'm not sure it's according to the policy. But the way it is organized right now is quite similar to the DVD's except for the duplicates. I would like to volunteer to do this in this way. That way at least we would have SOME degree of order and consistency.
So if a mod or admin could ok this I would be willing to do the work.

Someone's been accidentally (?) putting season 3 episodes into Season 2... They're correctly marking them as DVD Volume 3, but since they're in the Season 2 section they're ending up with episode numbers that duplicates (and in some cases triplicates) of the numbers of real season 2 episodes... Completely messing things like Plex up of course.

At the same time, some of the same episodes are also being entered in correctly as Season 3 episodes... But then it looks like someone has also tried to work around the Season 2 duplicates problem by adding some season 2 items to the Season 3 section....

Basically, this series labeling on TVDb went from being a little clunky to a total mess (Season 2 in particular, as it's gotten increasingly messed up recently).

Any mods available to help?

My kid depends on this to know what they're going to watch :mrgreen:

Season 1 currently locked by @DarklightIndigo which has episodes 1-20 followed by episode 112???
Season 2 then has duplicates which have been listed in season 1
Season 3 has duplicates which have been listed in season 2.

Not sure what the source of truth is and how it's decided. The DVD collection at least is set in stone as per rockybeach's comments. Then there's the wikipedia entry ... on,_Volume_(between 1-3), but these don't appear to list them all either.

Having duplicates across seasons however is no use to anyone. Is it possible to look at cleaning this up so at least the seasons don't show duplicated epsiodes across them. Also, having an episode 112 in season 1 also is a bit odd to see, especially as it was 'locked' in.
