Season banners
http://imgur.com/a/61FIH actual BD disc covers from 3gatsu, UMR S2 artwork, that new bike thingy keyvisual...

as fo the two from the previous post (edit timeout); usually artwork w/o logos on series posters get deleted, that's why I added the dias one - the one w/o was left up and regarding the other show; it features less text (no 2017 promo), a more realistic background (official artwork) and doesn't have a cropped disclaimer/copyright text...

It's pretty simply. A season banner should indicate the season. A blank poster does not and was therefore deleted.

The season banners ask for DVD "style" covers - they do not state that it needs text directly (show or season)... Keyvisuals specific to seasons (like the UMR ">R<") do fill the necessity imho. You also deleted official covers like http://3lion-anime.com/blu-ray_dvd/vol01.html. BD discs often have cover sliders so there is not really a need to have everything printed on the shells. I rather abstain from adding inofficial text over images and I feel like I can with the current wiki entry.

The show posters were also deleted, what was wrong with them then..?

At this point in the production schedule (<2months before airing) there can be delays sure, but cases of "anime" shows getting canceled are as far as I know pretty much non-existent. Since they announce the season they're premiering in as per "industry" standard that should be enough to add the entry. Specific dates/times are only immediate before airing which would just result in more duplicate content being added.

Try to make the season designation obvious enough to read without being gaudy

http://www.thetvdb.com/wiki/index.php/Season_Banners

So yes, the purpose of a season banner, is to make the season desination obivous. Like it or not. There is not point adding a season banner, if not to show the season.

Adding animes without an official start date or relevevant information is no different as any other series. Why should we treat animes any different?

Sure but an image without text can still indicate the season; be it by it's specific artwork (costumes, characters, villains like for example https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images ... 86574l.jpg) or by including the signs (like the "R" for Umaru-chan R http://img.diudou.com/file/dongman/news ... 115d5c.jpg or something simple like two fingers as in https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images ... 85220l.jpg for a S2).
As mentioned, not everyshow prints these things on the retail covers. Just two from the previous season:

It isn't forbidden per rules but just not optimal as far as I know..? If a show starts announcing that it will air in October 2017 on the website, magazines etc., has previews and artwork it's pretty much a given (production order etc. out). That would for example be true for the show in the OP.

So, I readded the show and it was blasted again and some season banners I reuploaded also removed. If it wasn't clear from my reply above I do not agree with you and fail to see a clear wiki or forum thread stating those rules you apply. Care to reply? If you really want to enforce this then I would suggest to update the rules...

You are free to disagree, but that doesn't mean you are right. The rules are clear enough.

That is one "answer" to multiple questions/points...

You really don't see a problem here?
http://www.thetvdb.com/wiki/index.php/Season_Banners
- You're asking for DVD covers but will delete them when they have no text on it. see examples already provided.
- The designation should be easy to read, but is a try suggestion - not a must either. But even images that display the season (like UMR-R) are not fine because it doesn't have "season" there in text apparently?
- The example image provided concerns the third bullet point and isn't the "gold standard" either.

If you delete content as such the wiki should be changed. And no, I don't fail to understand the use of such but I rather keep it as the "industry" does it than slap on text just so it fits a mods understanding of a rule. Or upload manga covers (and thus wrong content) because they have numbers on it (like it is on most anime shows..).

And nowhere in the wiki or in the sticky it states that an airdate must exist for the series to exist. It's just posts in between from mods and not everyone enforces it the same way. Shows like in the OP that have announced their premiere month should be of no issue at all. (at least I fail to find it)

bump for a complete answer/feedback since I'm getting tired of being apparently stalked when submitting (it's not fun revisiting older submissions only to see images gone with nothing in it's place). thanks

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=26770&p=90413

tells me:
- "otherwise perfectly" images are still fine
- I am allowed to upload the official DVD covers

so anything specific to a season as key visuals for anime are should cut it and so should boxart without season indicators..? I find it worse to allow manga covers as season fronts or volumes for other seasons to take their place... it's simply wrong content but somehow what is expected.

I would also still argue for announced months to be enough to allow for a season to be added.
