Deleted episode images return after reuploading

Postby cookieguru » Sun Oct 15, 2017 4:25 pm

I uploaded a few episode images to the wrong episode. Since I was the uploader, it's trivial to delete. Once deleted, I uploaded the correct images, but noticed that the old images still show up, even after a hard refresh. Are there any workarounds?

Theoretically, there could be a workaround, but it'd break API requests in favour of delivering a site aesthetic.
From what I've seen, average cache refreshes are:
API: 24 hours
Site: 7 days

There's a lot of different caches that need to clear for it to show the new image. The site clears immediately but then you need the CDN to clear which can take upwards of an hour or two. After that you need your own browsers cache to clear which can be done with a hard refresh. It's not going to be fixed because fixing it means giving uploads new names to avoid the caching issues but doing so would break the API.
Please don't PM me. Post in the forums instead unless there is a very good reason for a PM or I won't respond.
