Please do NOT upload a 4:3 episode thumbnail for a 16:9 show

Keep out! Low flying bears!

Mon Dec 24, 2012 4:02 am

I have seen this way too often and it is getting very annoying.

Please remember that if a show airs in 16:9 (and most do these days), you should not be uploading a 4:3 (400x300px) episode thumbnail. Please make sure that the image you upload is 16:9 (400x225px).

First of all:
Please excuse my bad english. I am german.

Wish I could give u an example.. but...

"Deutschland von oben ***Duplicate 126301***
Season 1
This season is locked at the series level and cannot be changed.
It was locked by Imzadi"

That explains why I had trouble this afternoon with putting all together & finding it later with my Dreambox-PlugIn.

This is the "Terra X"-Link:
This is the "Deutschland von oben"-Link which already existed before i started to work on it:

ID 126301 is a "Terra X" where a wide range of documentaries were/are aired - incl. the "Deutschland von oben"-Series (Dvo). Series 1 in 2010 & Series 2 in 2011.
But I cant upload anything else there than episode-images. No banners, no posters, no fanart for "Dvo". Maybe I missed something there?
This ends as an entry in my PlugIn-Database with a blank poster, a blank background, etc.. Doesnt look that good.. :(
The problem is that "Dvo" is a TvShow which is also available as DVD/BluRay. So there isnt any further usefull information on other db's out there cuz it is not a/the movie (the movie is in cinemas since Dezember 2012).
But thats another topic, I guess.
Maybe this issue is discussed before here anywhere?

I now uploaded my episode-images there in "Terra X". They are in the correct aspect now. 400x225.

Can someone please mark these as replaceable.

Marked, but make a separate thread for this next time please.

Can a user who posts 4:3 thumbnails for new Series not be warned? It seems that they are oblivious to the fact that they broke the rules and will continue as such?

Would it not be possible to have a link with each image to report it when it has the wrong ratio?

It's unlikely any further enhancements will be made to the current site to allow anything like this, but the new site (still no ETA sorry) will definitely allow for better control over things like this.
Until then we just have to keep replacing crap images and wishing to god people would just read the goddamn text before uploading their rubbish :P

Hi, I don't know if it's a right place to post the complain, but it seems that this user is continuously uploading 4:3 photos for Castle tv show. It's getting really annoying.

It' would be great if you could replace/delete this one ... 5645&lid=7 and this one also ... 6076&lid=7

Fine to complain here and looks like they've been replaced. Will send a message to the user next time
