Season 6 should be titled Season 4
Season 7 should be titled Season 5
now as "Traffic Cops" again but starting with Series 4

Thanks :)

The episode numbering on this series has always been a bit odd.
The Channel 5 info is incomplete, but https://www.channel5.com/show/traffic-cops/ indicates that we are currently on Season 7. Note; ignore anything listed for 5Spike, it just runs repeats.
Unfortunately the more compete information at Radio Times https://www.radiotimes.com/tv-programme ... ode-guide/ says that we are currently on Season 5.

The TVDB seasons (6 & 7) are currently aligned to the Season listed by Channel 5 (the transmission network)
The requested Seasons (4 & 5) are those of Radio Times (the "authoritative" UK TV liking guide).

I cannot check EPG info; the current episode has no Season or Episode information and I have no recorded episodes that I can check.

On the whole, I feel that TVDB is right in following the Season number of the TV Network... unless anybody has a better argument.

I have managed to take a look at some EPG info that does have Season and Episode information. It uses the Season 4 & 5 numbering, hence supporting this change request.
Clearly I cannot post supporting EPG information; any suggestions how to proceed?

If it helps, here is a photo of the forthcoming episode's Freeview EPG showing it as Season 5

Sorry for not replying sooner. I thought I'd be emailed when someone replied but that wasn't the case, really sorry!

Yeah, the Channel 5 website is really weird in their numbering. They say a new series has started but usually at the beginning of the episode for a new series - they say it's a new series. That hasn't happened since the episode currently marked as S7E1 on TheTVDB.

EPG & Radiotimes https://www.radiotimes.com/tv-programme ... ode-guide/ does use the Series 4 & 5 numbering as you've seen!

Well, I think that Channel 5 has thrown the spanner in the works; they have retrospectively renumbered the episodes since May ...
S06E16 is now S07E01
S07E01 to E04 are now S07E02 to E05
S07E05 (2nd Sept) and onward are now S08E01 and onward

So the tvdb numbering no longer matches either source numbering scheme!
Although the easier option might just be to renumber to this new Channel 5 scheme

The only reason I saw this issue, was with Plex recording it and trying to match metadata to the numbering scheme found on the EPG.

I guess wait and see what happens at the end of this season or next season. Usually in the last/first episode they state whether it's the end/beginning of a new series.

If they're in the process of changing everything, EPG data hasn't been notified of those changes. I guess we'll find out next season haha :)
