On the episode edit page, the runtime field only says "Approximate runtime". Can that heading be clarified with a nice, bold "without commercials" affixed? This should hopefully help prevent runtime wars where people change the runtime to the timeslot runtime instead of the content's runtime.
Something that I'd like to see on the Add Episode page is that the runtime should default to the typical runtime value for the show. In the brief time that v3 was live I saw several new episodes that had no runtime listed because the default for new episodes is empty. Since most shows have a constant runtime, this would make it so that value would not need to be changed for most shows. One possible runtime query that will pick a likely recent value (which supports a runtime that changes from season to season):
Also, what do you think of adding a timeslot value in addition to runtime? That would allow an episode to be listed with something like timeslot=60, runtime=45 for a show with commercials, and timeslot=55, runtime=55 for a show without commercials.
Code: Select all
SELECT runtime FROM episodes WHERE seriesId = ? GROUP BY seasonNumber, runtime ORDER BY seasonNumber DESC, COUNT(*) DESC LIMIT 1
