I have tried to see if there are rules about Fanart images, but I couldn't seem to find anything to do with relevance to the show.

I have found several images which are attached to the wrong show:

or are pure works of fiction and don't relate to the show (even though they are quite good):

Is there a process to have these removed?

As long as the art relates to the show I believe it is allowed. Fanart doesn't have to be a screenshot from an episode.

No idea about atlantis != stargate though.

Thats fair enough, the first batch would then be need to be moved to Stargate, but the others IMO don't relate to the show, there are ships which were not in any of the shows and I assume to be of a viewer created design (http://thetvdb.com/banners/fanart/original/70851-52.jpg, http://thetvdb.com/banners/fanart/original/70851-50.jpg, and the other two images couldn't have happened in the series (think a fanart with two deathstars side by side for Starwars for example)

I may be incorrect here, but I don't think they belong.

I would agree if we were talking episode images,

but fanart is just that... FAN-art...I think as long as it follows all the other rules here and somehow applies, even in a remote way, to the series it should be OK.

Ok, thanks for your advice here, that has cleared up what is acceptable.

Had a look at the Stargate ones and with the exception (I think) of the ship at the top of first one the others contain stuff that is features in Atlantis, I can think of episodes of Atlantis featuring F-302s and X-303/BC-304s (I can't tell the difference).
If I remember tomorrow (which is actually later today now...) I'll take a copy, remove and email the uploadeder

The first three images show Prometheus, it was destroyed before Atlantis started, it never featured.
