Not really sure what you're asking.

If you're asking how to create "Specials", then every Series you create will already have a "Specials" season so create the episode there.

Once it's created, if you edit it you have 2 boxes that can be used to determine if it aired between episodes/seasons. "Airs after season" will allow you to place it at the end of the Season you select. "Airs before episode" allows you to place it before that episode.

Does that answer your question?

I have some of the episodes which were special episodes like 2 hour episode instead of 45 minutes so How do I mark those episodes as special ? is there a box or just enter it an as a title special episode ?

Sorry, I'm still not sure exactly what you're asking mate.

Episode length is a per-series field - if some episodes are longer or shorter you just have to put an average in there.
If you're talking about having a file that covers 2 episodes (like double length or something), most Media Centers would work with it if you named the file something like S01E01-02 (which would scrape both ep 1 and 2 for the same file).

Again I'm not sure if I've answered your question there. If not you're gonna have to tell me exactly what it is that you're trying to do.

Hi, I'm new to this and have just started using XBMC - Openelec. I have the TV series 'Extras' which had 2 seasons and 1 special but no matter what I name the special it does not show up on Openelec although all the episodes in both the seasons show up OK. Can anyone help me here, how should I name the special episode for it to appear in my list. Thanks in advance.

David.

1) If you'd started a new thread rather than posting at the end of an already confusing thread someone may have taken a look
2) Have you searched the forums/looked at the xbmc docs? ;) :
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9596&p=38391
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Ad ... w_specials
search.php?keywords=xbmc+special+naming
3) Probably best to ask over at XMBC as they know how their software works, we only maintain the database that they use.
4) Without giving examples of what you're trying then people are going to struggle to help spot issues

Mmmm, Ok I thought I had given an example but I've had a look at the threads you mention and the answer was there. Specials need to be in a folder named 'Season 00' and the files named as s00e01 etc.
Thanks for your help, I didn't realise that there isn't a standard method for naming files.

cheers, David.

Glad to hear you've got it working.
