Does anyone know what the username parameter is for http://www.thetvdb.com/rss/myTV.php?

Long version: I'm looking for a way to get notified about episodes airing for just the TV shows I care about. the http://www.thetvdb.com/rss/newtoday.php has more than I need and I want to filter it somehow. I noticed http://www.thetvdb.com/rss/myTV.php is a thing but without parameters it provides the same data as newtoday. I assume it takes a parameter to identify the username, so it can provide data for only tv shows marked as favorite by that user. What is the parameter?

I don't know how you found that file as it's quite old. At any rate it won't do what you want it's just a very old version of newtoday.php. It's almost exactly the same except for some minor fixes that appear in newtoday. Neither of them take any parameters.

I just browsed the /rss directory. I assumed based on the name that it somehow filtered results to just those that are in my favorites, provided it could determine my account ID. Is this something that could be added? I'm sure it would be a popular feature.

I don't think it filters at all. As Coco said it's just an old version of newtoday.php, which just shows any episodes with today's air date.
When the new site is done there will be a lot more in the way of information and customisation, I'm sure.

It won't be added on this site. As ManiacB said the new site will have more features but for now we won't do it. With the way it is now we only have to generate the file once and then serve the cached file to everyone. With your request we'd be generating thousands of different files and TBH there isn't much need. The list isn't that big so it can easily be filtered client side to just tell you about shows in your library.
