Hello fabulous thetvdb community,

My favorite download automation tool SickBeard has been complaining a lot lately of theTVDB.org XML errors while attempting to add new shows. After reading many threads on this topic at http://sickbeard.com/forums/, I thought I should come here for follow-up. Below is full debug logs from SickBeard from my failed attempt to add the colbert report to SickBeard. I followed the recommendation and emptied the tvdb cache folder, to no avail. Comments on the sickbeard forums seemed to indicate this issue has something to do with large shows and tvdb's session or socket closing part-way through the communication. Any feedback on what's happening or what we can do to resolve this issue?

Code:

There isn't really anything we can do to help you. Most programs timeout themsleves long before our server does. Really the only solution we currently have is for people to make use of the zip files instead of the xml files as they are much smaller and don't have this issue. But getting zip support added is something you'd need to do on your programs end. You might also be able to increase the timeout on your end but I find transfering large xml files just doesn't work very well.

This is being done.
I'd suggest that the OP should head to Sickbeard's forums or IRC channel.
They're aware of the situation, and are trying to fix it.

Nothing can be done from thetvdb's side.
