I'm not sure where to post requests for series title change requests.

From the TVDB wiki;
"If you truly believe that a name is wrong [you should] create a post in the forum asking if others agree with your conclusion. If there is a consensus that the name is incorrect then request an admin change it. "

So this is what I am doing here.

I use XBMC with the TVDB scraper and the series "Once Upon A Time" has been entered in the DB as "Once Upon A Time (2011)"

This offends my inner obsessive geek because that clearly is not the name of the series and none of the other stuff that gets listed in my library has a date. Yuck!

Just to be sure, I went and checked TV.com and the IMDB. Both of these sources also show the series without the first aired date being stupidly included in the title.

Therefore I am making this post in order to see "If there is a consensus that the name is incorrect" so that I may "then request an admin change it."

If this is not the correct place to make such a post then please accept my apologies in advance.

Cheers

There is another series present in the database that has Once Upon A Time

So the new series (only) gets the year appended to it.

The difference is, TV.com and IMDB don't get people scraping data from them. If they did, and we followed your suggestion, users would be presented with 2 identically named series with no indication as to which one is correct until they'd scraped.

While you are correct about the name in order for the site to work we need each series to have a unique name so it won't get the date removed as we need it to make the name unique.
