Hello,
we would like to use your API in our android application that we hope to release as soon as possible in Gooogle Play Store. In this app we put references to your database, as specified by your guidelines.

Hoping for your approval,
Best Regards.

We sent this mail a week ago to scott@thetvdb.com as specified by your guidelines but we didn't received any answer yet...

How do we proceed?

Did you put any info about the app in the email? What it is, what it does, what it scrapes?
I don't know how things work on the developer side of things, but would presume details like that are probably the minimum amount of info that would be needed.
Either way, Scott's a busy bloke, so sometimes these things might take a backburner.

Hi, I am also waiting on a response.

I resent my request with more description about what the app will do, thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry to ping on this again, I still have not received a response to my emails asking for permission to use the data in an application.
Are approvals happening at the moment ?

thanks for all the great work.

Hi,
We are still "waiting". I suggest to publish your app anyway, like I did: if they don't reply maybe they don't care a lot...

It's more like the person who would normally reply to these is very busy at the moment.

I'd also suggest publishing it anyway. If it causes any problems I'm sure someone will let you know.

What is the actual license of the data?

I believe Scott S. once posted a global response to the tune of "if you don't have an answer yet, assume the answer is yes" post somewhere, but I wasn't able to find it using the forum search feature.

Can anyone clarify? In the case of people who write apps ( I have one in the pipeline ) I'd like a written slip in order to file with my other business paperwork, just to nail down the specifics before leaving myself liable. (Does TheTvDB, or do the submitters own the data?)

(Sidenote: I used to be registered on this forum, but my account seems to have disappeared, weird....)

Hi
We also emailed Scott several weeks ago about a commercial license, but we are yet to receive any answer at all.

Best Regards

I ran into the same issue. Sent Mail 2 days ago, still no answer. I'm planing to create a App for BB10 using the Native Cascades framework and would like to put it with $0,99 at the store as soon as I have it finished. At least in the beginning I would like to try to sell the app and make it later perhaps free for all the TV junkies and Big Bang Theorie lovers out there.
But I guess I would get considered as commercial user because of this. Hmm... so I'm not sure if I should continue to put effort in this small project or not. :(
