..hear me out!

I'm using the terrific information to index and organise my own recordings. Being a brit, some shows, particularly daily news type shows are often missing from the database.

Newsnight for example,

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=70342&lid=7

I can often find the information on these episodes from the networks site directly

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mk25/episodes/guide

A quick scraper and they could easily be loaded in.

I completely understand any reluctance to allow api data submissions, but for only for mods perhaps?

Just to add, there are around 1380 episodes of this show, hence why an automated solution may be preferable

Thanks dwjp90,

Actually the more I think about it the more dangerous it seems. Wrong seriesid? Uh oh!!

Maybe going forward if you were to offer something like that, the best thing would be provide an xml submission and stating the data source for the info. A mod could then at least review the information first and import if happy.

It's already planned for the new site. Not sure it will be opened for public use due to obvious abuse issues but it may be as we plan on having the ability to roll back changes with a single button click.

It won't be happening on this site though.
