Are we posting series that we're waiting to return as well?
Go for it people, I'm waiting for the following to return:

    The Almighty Johnsons
    American Dad
    Archer
Being Human (UK, US is just too similar to the UK version so I already know whats going to happen)
    Californication
    Dexter
Falling Skies (don't understand the bad reaction to this show, probable cos Spielberg was involved and peoples expectations were through the roof)
    Family Guy
    Fringe
Game of Thrones (one of the best shows ever)
    House
The Life and Times of Tim (heard this is coming back for another season)
    The Office (US)
Parks and Recreation (The Office, in a different office)
Peep Show (this is amazingly funny, original and definitely worth a watch for anyone that hasn't heard of it)
Sons of Anarchy (not as good as The Shield but a worthy follow-up)
    South Park
    Spartacus Blood & Sand
    The Walking Dead

And I'm also waiting for the following to start:
Battlestar Blood & Chrome (Is the date on theTVDB correct? Woo! Wasn't expecting it until 2012. What's the bet that they wait 2 years between airing the pilot and starting the series, by which time everyone will have forgot about it and it then gets cancelled?)
    Terra Nova

Also, here are some of my all time favorites that have ended: :(

24 (Is there going to be a movie in 2012? Hope so)
Arrested Development (come on, get this movie made!)
    Babylon 5
    Battlestar Galactica (2003)
Dungeons & Dragons (please make the final episode, thanks for the radio show but I really want to see the animation made too)
Father Ted (classic comedy that has aged like a fine wine, highly recommended)
    Firefly (obligatory)
Heroes (first season only, the rest went down the pan. God dam writers strike screwed this one up beyond belief)
    Lost
The Mysterious Cities of Gold (loved this show when I was a kid and still do today, there are rumors of a second season but I'm not holding my breath)
Prison Break (first season was amazing, went downhill drastically from there though)
The Shield (this was absolutely brilliant)
Star Trek (all of them, I can't get enough Sci-Fi)
Stargate (all of them, see above. Although SG-Universe was bad to start with it was getting really good toward the end)

Also, I did enjoy the following that have ended:

    4400
Caprica (shoddy start but got really good toward the end, why do they always cancel shows once they are starting to get good?)
    Dollhouse
    Lights Out
    No Ordinary Family
    Odyssey 5
    Persons Unknown
    The Philanthropist
    Primeval
Smallville (would not be on the list if it were not for that amazing final episode)
    The Sopranos
    Surface
    V (2009)

I might give Lost Girl a try seen as it has made it to a second season and has appeared on polargeek's list. I've been meaning to start watching The Wire but haven't had time with all the other shows I'm watching. I'll also be checking out 'Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog'.

Second season also went 22 episodes instead of the 13 the first season got. The Wire is totally worth your time one of my all time favourites. And I can't believe you haven't seen Dr. Horrible that is a must see.

As far as what I'm waiting for:
Returning:
  • Castle
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • Hawaii Five-0
  • NCIS
  • Community
  • The Big Bang Theory
  • Fringe
  • Supernatural
  • Call Me Fitz
  • Dexter
  • House
  • The Walking Dead
  • Chuck
  • Todd and the Book of Pure Evil
  • Bones
  • How To Make It In America

New that I want to Check Out
  • Ringer - Cause I need a Sarah Michelle Gellar fix
  • New Girl
  • Terra Nova
  • American Horror
  • Grimm
  • American Horror

And I don't even want to get into stuff I miss that's way too depressing ;)

Hmmm, shows I enjoyed?

Ok, here goes...

  • Stargate SG-1
  • Stargate Atlantis (was ok, a decent watch)
  • Greatest American Hero
  • Alexei Sayles Stuff
  • The Young Ones (only six episodes, never gets boring)
  • Red Dwarf
  • Are You Being Served (I don't know why I love this series, I just do)
  • Beast Wars (hung out on the transformers newsgroup with the writers, tons of shout outs to the newsgroup folk in those episodes)
  • Benny Hill (comic genius)
  • Blackadder
  • Punky Brewster
  • Robotech
  • Scrapheap Challenge (started to suck toward the end though)
  • Top Gear
  • Pirates of Dark Water (ended way too soon, must have ending!)
  • Star Trek Enterprise (I'm that one person that really enjoyed it)
  • Tales of the Gold Monkey
  • Voyagers! (educational and fun)
  • Xena
  • Extreme Ghostbusters
  • Battle Star Galactica (the real one, not the fembot remake with the stupid boring ending)
  • IT Crowd
  • Life After People (this was a fun series, loved it)
  • Firefly (very well made series, movie sucked though)
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • Ewoks cartoon
  • Dungeons & Dragons cartoon
  • M*A*S*H
  • Hogans Heros

Waiting to start...

  • My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic season 2

Don't mind that as long as it's out asap. Just use a US proxy if it isn't available in your country.

Will be checking those out then, as soon as I have got through the tonnes of shows I'm watching at the moment. Didn't even know Dr. Horrible existed until the other day.

Agreed, forgot about that one.

Forgot about those, absolute classics. If your into these then definitely check out Peep Show & Father Ted, comic genius. What about Rising Damp? Forgot that one too.
pkellum wrote:

Sounds interesting, but if it didn't have an ending I might skip it. Nothing worse than getting invested in a show to have it end with no resolution.
pkellum wrote:

I enjoyed it too, especially once they went off into that unknown area even the Vulcans were scared of.

Thought you were joking about that one!

I'll have to check those out.

Surprisingly, not. It's well written, well animated, and has a great cast plus. Plus, the music is very well made, includes takes on classics. It's created by the wife of the creator of Power Puff Girls and she worked heavily on that show. MLP has that same "weirdness" and comedy style. It includes a lot of references to classic shows like Monty Python and Benny Hill (seriously, a couple times so far). She wanted to make a show that wasn't the typical "girls show" which she considered insulting and wanted to make sure parents didn't mind watching it with their kids. Turns out she also got a fan base of college kids that she wasn't expecting in the process.

Basically, it's the mirror opposite of the older MLP shows.

It appears there's a fair bit of similar tastes amongst the mods/admins around here

pkellum wrote:

In my mind better than voyager and possibly even DS9 (But I'm a big Scott Bakula fan)

No worries there Space in Canada usually ends up streaming it from their site or air it on tv anyways after SyFy finishes their online airing.

Veng3r wrote:
Primeval

has this been officially cancelled again? I know the 5th series just finished airing a couple months back but I hadn't heard it was cancelled again. Maybe the Canadian spinoff will get traction since it's meant to be a companion show with guest spots from the ITV produced series. à la the Law & Order/ CSI or Stargate universes (no pun intended)

Okay I'll give in on stuff I miss. So other than much of what others have listed because these lists are a trip down memory lane

I could do with more of something in the Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes universe. (Not the US one although it was good until the ending)
Veng3r mentioned V(2009) but I miss the original more just the right amount of camp
Forever Knight (old school vampires)
Deadwood
Defying Gravity
Human Target (2010)
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
The Unit
Quantum Leap - (did I mention I like Scott Bakula)
