Lots of older shows on Netflix from before television got so braindead.
I would argue that some of the best shows in the past 20 years are on right now. New Girl, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Dexter, House, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Mythbusters, Friendship is Magic, Phineas and Ferb, etc. Now, there's obviously horrible ones, but I think we often look back with rose tinted glasses. Some shows were horrible in the past as well, but we tend to only think about the good ones and we tend to remember them all being on at the same time when they were generally spread over a decade or more. My $0.02 for the day.

2 Broke Girls
As much as I try, I just can't get past the horrible writing on this show. I've watched every episode, too, since I think the premise has potential and I think they have good actors. They try putting a punch line after every single bit of dialog. Yes, some of it is funny and yes, it's a comedy. However, the best comedies of all time (M*A*S*H, Cheers, Simpsons, Married With Children, Highway to Heaven, etc) have good stories that are funny by themselves, which leads to more natural punchlines. How I Met Your Mother is a perfect example of this. I give 2 Broke Girls one more season unless their writing changes significantly. Boobs and "I'm a slut", "we were so poor", and "my mom cared so little" one-liners can only carry a show so far.
